Aggiungi al carrellox, 71, [3] pp. Handset in Golden Cockerel type designed by Eric Gill. 7 [posthumous] color illustrations by Hugh Thompson. Folio. 12-5/8" x 8-3/4" With the tipped-in signatures of Danny & Marlo Thomas, who were the voices of Caleb Plummer & Bertha respectively, in the 1967 animated television production of this work. These autog…raphs obtained by one Richard Laade of Chicago IL, who, evidently, was an autograph collector, as his solicitation return envelopes are included herein. Per Wiki, "In 1967, Rankin/Bass Productions produced a 50-minute animated television adaptation of the story for NBC. Told in the Cricket's own words, it featured the voices of Roddy MacDowall as the Cricket, and father and daughter Danny Thomas and Marlo Thomas as Caleb and Bertha, with various other characters voiced by Paul Frees and Hans Conried. This adaptation cuts several characters, including the central pair of John and Dot, focusing solely on Caleb and Bertha. Television Corporation of Japan (now Eiken) provided the animation for the special, while its seven original songs were written and composed by Maury Laws and Jules Bass." A nice lagnaippe for this otherwise somewhat common edition of this Dickens Christmas novella. Spine slightly sun darkened, but overall a VG+ copy in a VG slipcase, with shows wear along the seams. Yellow buckram cloth binding stamped in green. Maroon slipcase with printed paper title label to spine 1st edition thus (Newman/Wiche 51). # 807 / 1500 cc.
