Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: N/A. 1st Edition. 136pp. Illustrated in black and white. Signed and inscribed by Len Deighton on the title page: For Jim, best wishes, from Len Deighton, California, 1985. With a compliments card signed by both authors, Fred F Blau and Cyril Deighton, loosely laid in. One of an edition limited to 1,000 copies. Len Deighton (writing under the pen name Cyril) collaborates with Fred F Blau to present a history of the orient flight to the Holt Land of the Graf zeppelin airship which marked the reintroduction of the air-borne post office in 1929. Certainly a philatelic book but also a precise piece of history of flight, of particular interest to Zeppelin and LTA followers. Leonard Cyril Deighton is a British author whose works include cookery books, history and military history, but he is best known for his spy novels, including the series featuring the unnamed Harry Palmer. We have many books by and about Len Deighton in stock, including early, limited and first editions. Original vintage London Transport travel poster titled In London's Country Village Life featuring a colourful design by the notable British artist and author Len Deighton (1929-2026) depicting a typical English summer scene showing a cricket match on a village green, fox hunters in red jackets on horses with their hound dogs, bicycles outside a traditional village shop adorned with advertisements for postage stamps and sweets, a Queen's Head pub sign, a rustic farm cart surrounded by chickens and posters on the side of a wooden clubhouse for a Film Show at the Shed (behind library), a fundraising 12 Troop Boy Scouts Handicraft Exhibition and Dairy Show, and a postponed Dick Turnbull dance show at the town hall, with a red roundel for London Transport below. Commissioned by London Transport to promote leisure travel on the London Underground as well as the Country Buses and Green Line coaches, this work is particularly significant for being designed by Deighton who was a professional illustrator before writing The Ipcress File (published in 1962) and other spy novels, becoming internationally well-known as an author. Published in edition of 2,500. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, minor staining, backed on linen. Size: 100x62cm. Leonard Cyril Deighton (Len Deighton) (illustratore).…
