De meest volledige toeristische gidsen voor Vlaanderen waarin je ook iets verneemt over je eigen, kleine gemeente. In samenwerking met Dexia. Over het boek De Erfgoedbibliotheek van de Belgische gemeenten werd in 2007 opgestart door Dexia in samenwerking met de uitgeverijen Lannoo en Racine. Zij vormt, in woord en beeld, de identiteitskaart van de tien Belgische provincies. De reeks zou dan ook niet compleet zijn zonder een deel over het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest, het enige dat zowel in het Nederlands als in het Frans verschijnt. Inhoudelijk onderscheidt dit boek zich van de andere delen. Terwijl die elk een van de tien provincies behandelen, waarbij het accent ligt op de historische aspecten en op het architecturale, artistieke en natuurlijke patrimonium van elke stad, gemeente, gewezen gemeente of dorp, is dit boek geheel en uitsluitend gewijd aan het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest en aan de negentien gemeenten die de Brusselse agglomeratie vormen. Vanwege het specifieke karakter van dit gewest gaat aan de hoofdstukken over het erfgoed een uitvoerig historisch overzicht vooraf. Deze geschiedenis van Brussel en zijn agglomeratie vormt het resultaat van jarenlang onderzoek over de negentien gemeenten en over de onderlinge banden waardoor zij samen een Gewest vormen. Zij is het werk van een team historici, cartografen en aardrijkskundigen onder leiding van Serge Jaumain, professor aan de Universite libre de Bruxelles en directeur van het Centre interdisciplinaire de Recherche sur l'Histoire de Bruxelles.
