An important early antislavery pamphlet, once attributed to the Quaker abolitionist Anthony Benezet. It was in fact written by William Dillwyn (also a leading abolitionist) and John Lloyd, when both men were members of a Subcommittee for the Quaker's London Yearly Meeting. William Dillwyn (1743-1824), a Philadelphia born Quaker active in the abolitionist movement in colonial America, was Benezet's student before moving to England before the Revolutionary war. Both Dillwyn and John Lloyd were founding members of the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade when it was formed in 1787. A powerful antislavery pamphlet.*Evans* 18353.
