Lucio Casio Dion (Lucius Cassius Dio; c. 155 - d.235), fue un político, militar e historiador romano de época severa que alcanzó las más altas magistraturas del Estado y fue honrado con un segundo consulado en el año 229 con el emperador Alejandro Severo. Escribió una historia de Roma desde los orígenes hasta su tiempo que ha llegado parcialmente a la actualidad. 884 páginas. Ilustrado con letras capitales xilográficas, y una lámina desplegable [Arbol geneológico]: "Genealogiae Caesarum, à Iulio usque ad Neronem, brevis delineatio". Paneled spine with severe tears and cracking, resulting in a loss of leather and partially detached leather. Boards have age toning and rubbing wear along the edges, and mild bumping to corners. Textblock has moderate age toning, foxing and stains throughout. Textblock has worming along the gutter of pages 383-428, not impacting text; and worming along the margins of pages 573-634, very slightly impacting some text. Text in Greek and Latin. Shelved in Room A. There is some confusion around whether this volume was printed in Paris or Geneva. 1396466. Special Collections.
