I'm unsure if it's the first edition or a reprint in the same year as the first edition - there's a couple online bound differently. The books is in Very Good condition with straight…spine, sharp corners and softened spine ends, in attractive gilt emblemed boards, and gilt edged pages. The binding is tight and the book contains ten illustrations in permanent photography. The title page confirms the 1889 publication by Bickers & Son.
