Um dies innerhalb des Rahmens philosophischer Betrachtungsmöglichkeiten zu untersuchen, werden zu diesem Zweck Georg Bertrams 'Philosophische Gedankenexperimente. Ein Lese- und Studienbuch' sowie das von Thomas Nagel in seinem Werk 'Wie ist es eine Fledermaus zu sein ' geschilderte philosophische Gedankenexperiment hinzugezogen. Zuerst wird unter Bezugnahme auf Bertrams obiges Werk im ersten Kapitel untersucht, ob und inwiefern es als sinnvoll erachtet werden kann, mittels eines philosophischen Gedankenexperiments auf die vorbenannte Frage einzugehen. Dabei wird gleichzeitig überblicksartig, und nur soweit es für den Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit als sinnvoll erscheint, auf die Definition von philosophischen Gedankenexperimenten eingegangen, um im nächsten Kapitel darauf aufbauen zu können. Denn im zweiten Kapitel wird auf ein philosophisches Gedankenexperiment von Thomas Nagel Bezug genommen. Dieser argumentiert entgegen der von Bertram vertretenen Auffassung. Das heißt, Nagel vertritt im Rahmen seines philosophischen Gedankenexperiments die These, dass es einem Menschen nicht möglich sei, aus der Sicht eines anderen Menschen nachzuempfinden, wie wie sich dessen Lebensweise anfühlen mag, mit demzufolge anderen kognitiven und körperlichen Bedingungen. Daran angelehnt soll in diesem Kapitel darauf eingegangen werden, welche Gründe Thomas Nagel zufolge dafür verantwortlich sind bzw. inwiefern er die Möglichkeit der Wahrnehmung fremder Subjektivität ausschließt.Im dritten Kapitel liegt der Fokus darauf, beide Positionen einander gegenüberzustellen, um anhand von wesentlichen Unterschieden sowie Gemeinsamkeiten den Versuch zu unternehmen, die Ansichten beider Philosophen in einer Synthese zu vereinen. Abschließend werden markante Positionen in zusammenfassender Weise kritisch reflektiert und argumentative Ergebnisse dieser Projektarbeit hervorgehoben. Des Weiteren möchte ich darauf hinweisen, dass das Ziel meiner Arbeit darin besteht, überblicksartig das Wesentliche des dieser Hausarbeit zu Grunde liegenden Themas zu erfassen sowie möglichst nachvollziehbar darzulegen.

Um dies innerhalb des Rahmens einer philosophischen Untersuchung zu reflektieren, wird zu diesem Zweck Simone de Beauvoir's 'Das andere Geschlecht. Sitte und Sexus der Frau', Jean-Paul Sartres 'Der Existentialismus ist ein Humanismus' sowie Pirmin Stekeler-Weithofers 'Sinn' verwendet.Mit Bezug auf Sartres Ausführungen wird zunächst der Begriff der Selbstverwirklichung im existentialistischen Sinne nachvollzogen, sodass damit gleichzeitig ermittelt werden kann, inwieweit ein Mensch zumindest weitestgehend selbst die Ursache seines Lebensentwurfes bzw. ein frei denkendes und handelndes Wesen ist, des weiteren, inwiefern ihn dies belasten kann und welche Pflichten daraus hervorgehen. Die Art und Weise des Verlaufs des eigenen Lebens hängt aber nicht nur vom jeweiligen Menschen selbst ab, sondern ebenso von dessen Prägung durch seine Mitmenschen. Insofern entsteht nun die mit Hilfe von Stekeler-Weithofers vorbenanntem Werk zu klärende Frage, inwiefern und inwieweit die Möglichkeit und Umsetzung der Selbstverwirklichung eines Menschen von seiner zu seinem Lebensumfeld gehörenden Gemeinschaft, also von deren Umgangsformen untereinander abhängt.Das letzte Kapitel beinhaltet den Versuch einer Vermittlung der von Selbstbestimmung sowie Abhängigkeit geprägten Lebensgestaltung eines Menschen. Das heißt, es soll dadurch ersichtlich werden, in welcher Hinsicht Selbstbestimmung und Abhängigkeit nicht im Widerspruch zueinander stehen, wie es vielleicht auf den ersten Blick scheinen mag, sondern, dass Selbstbestimmung Abhängigkeit voraussetzt, also anders ausgedrückt, dass ersteres nicht ohne letzteres möglich ist. Was im Einzelnen damit gemeint ist wird analysiert, mit dem Ziel, bezogen auf das Thema dieser Projektarbeit daraufhin zu argumentieren, dass Selbstverwirklichung nur möglich und umsetzbar ist, wenn sich Menschen sowohl ihrer Freiheit selbstbestimmt zu handeln, als auch der Hilfe bzw. Kooperation ihrer Mitmenschen bedienen, weil sie nun mal nicht nur freie/ selbstbestimmte sondern auch abhängige Wesen sind.

Zu Beginn sollen zunächst die wichtigsten Aspekte bezüglich Hegels Definition des Begriffes des Selbstbewusstseins aufgeführt werden. Das beinhaltet eine Unterscheidung des Selbstbewusstseins in ein Besonderes und Allgemeines. Hierbei kommt es ebenso darauf an, herauszufinden, wie Hegel Selbstbewusstsein und Anerkennung begrifflich miteinander in Verbindung bringt. Zum Zwecke einer umfassenderen Erklärung fließen dabei Perspektiven Stekeler-Weithofers und Taylors mit ein. Diese begriffliche Auseinandersetzung erfolgt vor dem Hintergrund, dass dadurch vorab der Begriff des Selbstbewusstseins nachvollzogen, geklärt werden soll, um in den sich anschließenden Kapiteln an geeigneter Stelle darauf Bezug nehmen bzw. daran anknüpfen zu können.Im weiteren Verlauf dieser Arbeit scheint meines Erachtens ein Vergleich sinnvoll zu sein, weil hinsichtlich Hegels Ausführungen über Anerkennungsverhältnisse, im Kapitel über Herrschaft und Knechtschaft in der 'Phänomenologie des Geistes', verschiedene Lesarten existieren. Es gibt diesbezüglich einerseits die von Stekeler-Weithofer bevorzugte intrasubjektive sowie die von Honneth vertretene intersubjektive Lesart. Was genau unter intrasubjektiver Anerkennung zu verstehen ist, welche Bedingungen zu deren Realisierung gegeben sein müssen, des Weiteren, was eine Verwirklichung intrasubjektiver Anerkennung verhindert, und inwiefern Selbstbetrug hierbei unter bestimmten Umständen möglich ist, wird im zweiten Kapitel mit Hilfe von Stekeler-Weithofers 'Philosophie des Selbstbewusstseins. Hegels System als Formanalyse von Wissen und Autonomie' dargestellt. Am Ende dieses Abschnittes soll klar werden, was Hegels Begriffe Herr und Knecht sowie Kampf um Anerkennung, bezogen auf intrapersonale/ intrasubjektive Anerkennung, gemäß Stekeler-Weithofer bedeuten.Daran anschließend enthält das nächste bzw. dritte Kapitel, wie bereits angekündigt, die Darstellung einer anderen Auffassung von Hegels Herrschafts- und Knechtschafts-Kapitel, mit Fokus auf den Begriff der Anerkennung.
