These volumes are part of a historical series printed at the Print House of the Imperial Academy in St Petersburg. The two present volumes are: Tarikh-e Khani by 'Ali ibn Shams al-Din bin Haji Hussayn and Tarikh-e Gilan by Abd Al-Fattah Fumani, and both were printed in 1274 AH (1857-58 AD). Both of these works were printed from manuscripts in the library of Nicolai Khanikov (1819-1878), Russian Orientalist and author of a number of publications relating to the middle east (including Mà moire sur la partie mà ridionale de l'Asie centrale (1861) and Mà moire sur l'ethnographie de la Perse (1866)).
