Wren was accorded responsibility for rebuilding fifty-two churches in the City of London after the Great Fire in 1666, including his masterpiece, St Paul's Cathedral. Written by Sir John Collings Squire, an English writer, most notable as editor of the London Mercury literary magazine, a poet and historian, who captained a famous literary cricket-team called the Invalids. Illustrated by Christopher Draper, an English artist and illustrator. In the original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound.
