Très beau poème de 31 vers à la gloire de Madeleine Brohan (1833-1900), célèbre actrice qui devint rapidement la maitresse du futur Napoléon III, suite à son triomphe dans Les Contes de la reine de Navarre de Scribe et Legouvé. Ce poème, publié à la fin de Lélila ou la Femme socialiste (Paris, Comon, 1851. p.105-106) est d'ailleurs écrit « au lendemain de ses débuts » dans la pièce, comme l'indique le sous-titre du poème imprimé. Le titre est ici : « à Mlle Madeleine Brohan ». Dans l'ouvrage, le mademoiselle est abandonné. Le texte est identique avec uniquement quelques variantes de ponctuation. Rare autographe, provenant des papiers de l'écrivain Jules Janin. [308-2].
