Newcastle Literary and Philosophical Society rules label to pastedown, their gilt stamp to foot of spine. A scarce short treatise on education for the lower classes by B. F. Duppa (1801-1840), British agent for the influential Swiss educationalist P.E. von Fellenberg. He argues for the creation of agricultural schools based on the Swiss model.
