Condizione: Near Fine. First edition (hardback). 4to (29cm by 21cm), iv, 36pp. 24 colour plates. Rebound in half olive green cloth, green boards, gilt titling to the spine, gilt motif to the front board. Light rubbing of the binding, else this book is in very good condition.

Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Book has a firm binding and the contents are clean except the end papers are tanned and the spine has darkened. Inscribed by the editor, A.J. Finberg, on the front free end paper and a letter from the editor is attached to the front pasted down end paper. Also inscribed by a previous owner on the front end paper in a somewhat ugly blue biro! (A.J. Finberg is Joseph Alexander Finberg, 1866-1939, art historian and co-founder of the Walpole Society. The letter is to Professor H. Wildon Carr.).

Plastic wrapper, pages are clear with minimal age tanning / spots. The illustration pages remain in a very good condition and all pages the writing can be read. There are mainly coloured illustrations. Very good condition for the age of the book, looks like the book has been rebound, with the original front and back covers attached to the new boards. The page numbers are up to 36, and the illustrations are unpaginated and appear in between the pages that are numbered.
