Among these are material relating to Lollardy with the Examination of an heretic priest and of Sir John Oldcastle, and a Miracle Play of the Nativity. Alfred William Pollard (1859-1944) was a distinguished bibliographer and Shakespeare textual scholar. He became Keeper of Printed Books at the British Museum, was Secretary of the Bibliographical Society, 1893-1934, editor of The Library and joint author of the well known Short-Title Catalogue.
