The site shows the earliest evidence of a fully sedentary village life (permanent habitation) and agriculture in the Nile Delta. This Part II specifically covers the middle phase of this culture, a crucial transitional period in which the settlement became more compact and organized. For archaeologists, the book is an indispensable catalogue and reference source. In this work, Eiwanger provides a meticulous description and classification of the finds from the middle phase, including: Ceramics (The development of forms, techniques, firing methods, and decorations of the pottery typical of this middle phase), Stone tools (The analysis of flint tools, blades, and grinding stones that provide insight into the technology and daily work of the inhabitants (such as harvesting grain and hunting)), and Small finds (Jewelry, cult objects, and other artifacts that reveal something about social life and symbolism).
