He doesn't have the heart to tell her, and pretends…to be her new employee. The two form a bond, which is tested when the authorities begin rounding up the town's Jewish population. One of the comparatively few films from the Czechoslovak New Wave filmed in the Slovak as opposed to the Czech language. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language film. 8 x 10 inches.
