In der zentralen Darstellung überreicht Friedrich Wilhelm IV dem Schützenkönig, dem Maler Martin aus Strehlen und seinen beiden Rittern, dem Brauereibesitzer L. Schmidt aus Burg und dem Hofku…pferschmiedmeister Luffsmann aus Neustrelitz, die Ehrenmedaillen. Um die Gruppe drängen sich die einheimischen und auswärtigen Schützen mit ihrer Fahnen, deren Heimatstädte namentlich auf den Transparenten am Rand des Bildes aufgeführt sind. Auf der oberen Bildleiste sind außen zwe Ansichten des 1795 erbauten Schützenhauses an der Linienstraße wiedergegeben, dazwischen die Darstellung der Fahnenhalle und die Szene dei Fahnenweihe. Unten sind außen der Festsaal und der Schießsaal abgebildet. Den Mittelteil füllt die Wiedergabe des Einzugs der Schützen in die Stadt Der Festzug befindet sich gerade auf dem Belle- Alliance-Platz und begibt sich in die Friedrichstraße. Die bewaffnete und mit einheitlichen Hüten ausstaffierte Truppe steht etwas ratlos vor einer Schankwirtschaft, aus der zwei Trunk…enbolde torkeln. Im Hintergrund mit sonnendunstiger Stadtsilhouette.; BESCHRIFTUNG: Im unteren rechten Eck signiert "Elsholz fecit" sowie mit kleinem Sammlerstempel in Form eines roten Monogramms auf dem Trägerpapier im rechten unteren Eck.; MAßE: Das Blatt misst ca. 20 x 27,3 cm, der Trägerkarton misst ca. 30,5 x 37,3 cm.; ZUSTAND: Das Blatt ist vollständig auf einem braunen Trägerpapier mit Umrandungslinien montiert, dieses zusätzlich auf einen Trägerkarton montiert. Das brüchige Trägerpapier teils mit Einrissen. Das Aquarell farbfrisch.; PROVENIENZ: Aus Berliner Privatbesitz.; VITA: Ludwig Elsholtz (geboren 1815 in Berlin, gestorben 1850 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Maler. Elsholtz bildete sich auf der Berliner Akademie und später im Atelier von Franz Krüger. Seine künstlerische Entwicklung ging jedoch bald zu größeren, figurenreichen Darstellungen. Als er später wegen eines unregelmäßigen Lebens die Kraft zu größeren Arbeiten verlor, wandte er sich der Aquarellmalerei zu.
