Emilio Cianchi, musicista, nacque a Firenze nel 1833. Esordi' con l'oratorio "Giuditta" ed ottenne un buon successo. La sua prima opera, "Salvator Rosa", ottenne un grande successo cosi' come "Il Saltimbanco". Lo stesso non accadde con le successive, "La vendetta" e "Leone Isauro".
