Double-sided trade card, verso states 'As many mistakes have happen'd by directing letters and casks for Mr Taylor, Distiller, and as my son is of the same trade, I beg you will be so kind as to direct for Richard Taylor, Distiller, Bristol, as I have no connection with my Son, as has been insinuated'. Typographic border to each… side. 6.54 x 9.5cm. Walter and Richard Taylor, are recorded as distillers, 1 Redcliff Parade; c.1775. (Index of Bristol Wine and Spirit Merchants). Earlier John Taylor, distiller, is recorded at 68 St Mary Redcliff, 1754. The use of the long 's' suggests this card is late 18th century.
