In München, Berlin, Burgthann, Bonn, Hadamar und Lich ansässig, ging er unterschiedlichen Beschäftigungen nach. 1939-1943 war er dienstverpflichtet als Kartograph in Berlin, 1952 hatte er einen kurzen Lehrauftrag an der Glasfachschule in Hadamar.
