Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 'The Agrarian Revolution in Roumania' is a comprehensive historical and economic analysis of the profound land reforms that reshaped the Romanian landscape in the early twentieth century. Author Ifor L. Evans provides a detailed exploration of the legislative and social changes that facilitated the transition from a semi-feudal system of large estates to a new order of peasant proprietorship. By examining the historical background of land tenure in the region, Evans illustrates how the post-World War I era became a turning point for the nation's agrarian structure. The work delves into the complexities of the various provinces, including Bessarabia, Bukovina, and Transylvania, highlighting the unique challenges and outcomes of reform in each territory. Evans assesses the impact of these changes on agricultural production, social stability, and the overall economic trajectory of the Romanian state. As a scholarly study written during a period of significant transition, this book offers invaluable insights into the intersection of political necessity and economic theory. It remains a crucial resource for readers interested in Eastern European history, the evolution of land rights, and the socio-economic foundations of modern Romania. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 'The British in Tropical Africa an Historical Outline' provides a comprehensive survey of the expansion and administrative development of the British Empire across the African continent. Author Ifor L. Evans traces the historical trajectory of British influence, offering a detailed overview of the political, economic, and social structures established within various tropical territories during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The work examines the distinct regions under British control, including the dependencies in West Africa, the territories of East Africa, and the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan. Evans explores the motivations behind imperial involvement, the specific methods of colonial governance employed, and the evolving relationship between the British administration and indigenous populations. By synthesizing the complex history of these diverse regions, the text provides a clear outline of how the British presence shaped the geopolitical landscape of the tropics. As an informative historical account, this volume offers significant insights into the era of colonial expansion and the administrative challenges faced by the British Empire in Africa. It serves as an important resource for readers interested in imperial history, the development of modern African states, and the legacy of British colonial policy in the region. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
