At the beginning of each month there is a full page verse for the month and a full page illustration opposite. Colour chromolithograph frontis of 3 children playing in a cornfield. Ornate binding of cafe au lait cloth with very fine gilt stamped vignettes of flowers, children and toys on upper cover and spine. Bevelled edged boards, decorative green and white endpapers. Corners and spine ends rubbed, title page illustration coloured by (competent) childish hand, small number of pages have birthday names written in. Owners neat presentation inscription dated 1882.
