Here for your consideration is another nicely designed and illustrated vintage travel book, this one about a country abit off the beaten track. Please find: Among the Danes, by F. M. Butlin, with 12 illustrations in color by Ellen Wilkinson and another 15 illustrations as well. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 x 9 inches, 280 pages plus a 30-page publisher s catalog of its current offerings) was published by Methuen & Company of London, dated 1909. The book is bound in very attractive blue cloth boards with elaborate gilt decorations and titles on cover and spine. The front endpapers are decorated with a vintage map of Denmark. Laid-in, there are two flyers about other books from the publisher. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is some minor edge wear to the hard covers, mostly bumping to the corners and spine tips. The gilt titles and decorations remain bright and very attractive (please see the photos). Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square.
