Established by the surrealist artist Oscar Mellor in the early 1950s and associated with the University of Oxford Poetry Society, the Fantasy Press gained notability for its pivotal role in the emergence of 'Movement' poets, a group that went on to define post-war poetry in Great Britain. Fantasy Press published the early work of many poets associated with the Movement and became renowned for its Fantasy Poets +series.
