Hard Cover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. First Edition. This wonderful and previously unseen anthology from the Spike Milligan archives uncovers an invaluable collection of unpublished material from one of Britain's best-loved comedians. 'Box 18' was a file into which the highly prolific Spike would put his writing and drawings as they camp, to him, but which never came to be published before his death. Selected and edited by Norma Fames, Milligan's manager, biographer and lifelong friend, Box 18 draws on previously unseen diaries and letters - from friendly correspondence with Paul McCartney to irate exchanges with the Accounts Department at Harrods - and his stories and drawings for children. Also included are poems and lyrics, Goon Show scripts and photographs from his public and private life. As both an original anthology and a personal legacy from a long-gone era, BOX 18 is absolutely unmissable. Size: 4to.…

This third wonderful anthology from the Spike Milligan archives uncovers a wealth of previously unpublished material from one of Britain's best loved comedians. The two previous anthologies, 'The Essential Spike Milligan' and 'The Compulsive Spike Milligan', brought together the very best of his stories, cartoons, poems and correspondence, and reminded his fans how deserved his reputation was as a wildly inventive and original comedian. 'The Unpublished Spike Milligan' - chosen and edited by Norma Farnes, Milligan's manager, biographer and close friend - is yet more essential and compulsive than these first two collections. It consists of the contents of 'Box 18', a file into which the highly prolific Spike would put his writing and drawings as they came to him, but which never came to be published. The book also draws on previously unseen diaries and letters. As both an original anthology and a personal legacy from a long-gone era, this is absolutely unmissable. Ref D 1.…

Paperback. Condizione: Good. 158 pages. cover slightly worn, text foxed.

Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Very presentable copy which is signed by Spike Milligan on the front free end paper alongside a gift inscription. My guess is that his signature was added after the gift inscription; so possibly the book was given as a gift first and then taken to an event where Milligan was present. The whole inscription reads "to: A Klunk! Happy Birthday, Love rob 26/10/79 Spike" (written in a different hand after the name Rob is the name Lyle, most probably to indicate that the Rob is Rob Lyle.) The signature of Spike is in his quirky, unmistakable style with squirly lettering and lines over the k and the p. Otherwise the book is in lovely condition with bright pages throughout. Perhaps a bit of toning to the page block edge. The dust jacket, although price clipped with a little light edge wear, is pretty bright and not sun faded. A few scuffs and shop shelf wear here and there, otherwise VG. A unique signed first edition. Signed by Author(s).…
