Two issues of a children's supplement to *Színházi Élet*, the popular Hungarian weekly of literature, art, and the theater, so stated on the final page. Slim 24mos. 32 pages each. Text in Hungarian. Illustrated. Each a single gathering, one stapled. Paper a bit tanned but supple, a nice, near fi…ne set. A nicely preserved set of this children's extra, notable in that each prints a five-page cartoon featuring Felix the Cat, known here as "Sicc" (apparently the Hungarian equivalent of "Shoo!"). One issue also prints a cover issue of Felix fishing, apparently using a small bear as bait. These two issues also feature the stories "Frog Wedding" by Elza Néni and "The Beetle Orchestra" by Szontagh Etelka (both illustrated by "Pellérdy"); "The Outlaw of Bakony" by Hajnal László; two installments of "The Bookworm" by Csermely Gyula (short stories); the poem "Yani" by Szegedi István; an article on performing dogs; and several pages of children's games. A pair of handsome little children's magazines, featuring one of the great characters of early animation, published in Horthy's Hungary a few years before WWII. *OCLC* locates a single entry, and seems to note that 14 issues of this supplement were published between 1937 and 1938, the final two years of *Színházi Élet's* run.
