Fick, Adolf Gaston Eugen, Ophthalmologe (1852-1937) studierte Medizin in Würzburg, Zürich, Marburg und Freiburg und wurde nach der Promotion 1846 Assistent am Physiologischen Institut in Würzburg, später an der Anato…mie in Breslau, wo er auch als Volontärassistent an den Augenkliniken unter Richard , Förster und Cohn arbeitete. 1879-86 war er praktischer Arzt und Augenarzt in Richmond (Kapland). Nach dem Staatsexamen in Zürich 1887 habilitierte sich Fick dort für Augenheilkunde, gründete neben seiner Praxis zusammen mit einem Kollegen eine Privatklinik und kehrte nach Kriegsausbruch 1914 nach Deutschland zurück, wo er sich als Freiwilliger meldete. Er erhielt den Professorentitel und war Chef eines Feldlazaretts an den Kriegsschauplätzen in Frankreich, Rußland und in der Türkei. Er war der Vater von Roderich Fick."
