First Edition. 30.5 x 21cm. An assorted, non-consecutive set of sixteen issues of Inscape, some of which are undated and thus difficult to place in the running order. The earliest appears to be Vol 2 No 1, January 1978 with an unattributed cover design "drawn spontaneously by a man diagnosed as chronic schizophrenic", and the most recent appears to be Spring 1989 with a linocut cover by Robin Tipple (this is stated to be the last issue produced by the editorial group 'Slate'). Early issues were edited by Christine Wood and Martin Fidler. Carl Jung's theories inform much of the content. Contributions by artists, theorists, therapists, academics, psychiatrists, etc., including Diane Waller, Roger Cardinal, Krysia Nowak, music therapy expert Marjorie Wardle, Frederick Alexander Jenner, Joy Schaverien, Marian Liebmann, and many others. Each issue often has an artwork reproduced on the cover, many from "outsider" artists such as Martin Ramirez, Madge Gill, etc. Issues have various dating conventions - includes issues Vol 2 No 1 (Jan 1978), Vol 3 No 1, Vol 3 No 2, Vol 4 No 1, Vol 4 No 2, Vol 5 No 1, "May 1982[?]", "April 1983[?]", October 1983, Summer / August 1984, December 1984, Number One 1985, "Late 1985 issue printed February 1986", Summer 1986, Spring 1988, and Spring 1989.
