Knowledge at the time, for the Man in the Street was 'sketchy' to say the least! and Books of this type gave an authoritive view in easy to understand terms, this was considered one of the very best & was regularly updated & revised up to WW1. Chapter Headings include the Evolution of the Motor-Car, Some Types of Petrol Car, Steam Cars, Electric Cars, The use & running of a Motor Car, The Motor Car Abroad, Concerning Tyres. etc. The final Chapter entitled: The open Road is the Authors experience as passenger to the Racing Driver Charles Jarrott during Eliminating Trials for the Gordon Bennett Race of 1904. The Book although apparantly Ex.Lib is in very good condition , it's had the fly leaf pasted back to the inside front cover and there is evidence of a label having been there . No actual library stampings the one would expect. The Jacket it a little slack and faded on the spine and across the upper part.…
