Considers the geographical features, native inhabitants and indigenous animals of south-western Central Australia, with striking full page photographic illustrations reinforcing the narrative, told through the lens of the 1930s (when the book was first published).

Free of any notes or writing. Front endpaper is cracked along the length of the gutter- no loose or missing pages. A previous booksellers sticker at the foot of the front attached endpaper. Overall good condition. This book is from the collection of Thomas Lovejoy. Dr. Lovejoy was an influential ecologist, field biologist, and activist; former head of the Amazon Biodiversity Center, World Wildlife Fund, and advisor to the United Nations and Smithsonian Institution. He is credited with introducing the term biological diversity to the mainstream environmental movement. In addition, he was a passionate collector of books on the natural world.
