Including illustrations by John C. Brown, William Brown, Andrew Donaldson, John Fleming, David M. Mackenzie, W.B. Scott, D. Stewart, a…nd other Scottish artists. Including an essay on the scenery of the Highlands by Professor Wilson, who also wrote descriptions along with the illustrations throughout the book. Bookbinder's plate to the front pastedown: 'J&W Stephenson'. Previous owner's signature to one of the front free-endpapers: 'James Master'. Bound in full calf with gilt spine. Externally, rubbing and marks to the boards and shelf wear to the extremities and spine. Externally, front joint split at the head of the spine, but remains firm. Binder's plate to the front pastedown. Previous owner's signature to the one of the front free-endpapers. Internally, front hinge has failed and boards are held by joint and hinge only.
