Hardcover. Condizione: As New. New Edition. Oblong folio, unpaginated, bevelled cloth, extra-gilt, tissues in place. Illustrated with 22 steel-plate engravings of the Rhineland. This is an undated variant of Foltz's work, which was variously issued between 1875 and 1910, with possibly different numbers of plates - and possibly d…ifferent combinations of plates. Each plate has a facing page of text. One text has a date to 1884. Copies can be found in and around the fatherland, but rarely outside of Europe. The rear cover stamping identifies the Leipzig Buchbinderei Gustav Gritzsche. It appears that this is some variant of Halenza's Rheinisches Album - also edited by Foltz, which also had 22 engravings. That one was published circa 1860 by Verlag von Joseph Halenza. RHEIN-ALBUM has been credited to the artist Ludwig Friedrich Foltz (d.1867), as contrasted to Friedrich Wilhelm Folts (b.1895).
