The reason: Someone has suggested that Nicklaus used an Autopen to sign it. Someone who likely knows how to tell the difference. I read an article about Autopens, watched a video, and I can't differentiate it from a…hand-signed. This book is in excellent condition. It does not have its dust jacket. However, you can pick up an unsigned book with the correct dust jacket in Very Good to Near Fine condition from another seller for between 12 and 20 dollars including shipping. You can see the dark blue covers in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling. The spine is not toned. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. The covers have very little wear, slight crinkling at the spine ends, a few teeny tiny edge dents, and a crease above the rear bottom corner. The cover edges and corners are bright. I don't see any rubbing. The page edges look perfectly clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in superior condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I'm not finding any instances of soiling. The white inside covers and end papers are perfectly clean. There's no foxing anywhere in the book. I can't find any imperfections with regard to the pages. The aforementioned dent/crease above the rear cover bottom corner had no impact at all on any of the pages. I don't see any creasing of any kind anywhere. There are no markings anywhere. There are no attachments. And the signature of Jack Nicklaus is the only writing to be found anywhere in the book. Jim McQueen (illustratore). Signed by Author(s).
