Prima edizione delle Odi di Orazio nella traduzione italiana dell'abate Francesco Venini più volte ristampata nell'Ottocento. Le odi sono precedute dalla Vita di Orazio. Testo in latino con traduzione italiana a fronte. Mancano gli Epodi VIII e XII di cui compare il solo testo latino (con la pagina a fronte bianca in tutti gli esemplari). Francesco Venini (Varenna, 1737 - Milano, 1820), padre somasco, fu autore del ?Trattato della lingua italiana e della latina e delle regole proprie dell'una e dell'altra?, apparso anonimo e senza data probabilmente nel 1768. Insegnò Matematica all'Università di Parma. Divenne in seguito vicario generale della diocesi di Aix-en-Provence, chiamato da Jean de Dieu-Raymond de Boisgelin, che aveva avuto modo di conoscere a Parma.
