Der Text schildert die Verdienste des Erzherzogs in den Revolutionskriegen und der Auseinandersetzung mit Napoleon. Darauf folgen Verzeichnisse der Träger des Ordens. - Die zwei sehr schönen grossen Lithographien (circa 48 x 58 cm) zeigen: "Die Ertheilung der brillantnen Ordensinsignie am Glacis" und "Das Bankett im k.k. Ceremoniensale". - Der Autor Franz Carl Weidmann (1787-1867) gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Chronisten des Wiener Lebens im 19. Jahrhundert.
