"The aim of this book is to help shooters become not only good marksmen, but safe ones! The author begins by explaining the shotgun and the practical know-how of using it. He explains its parts and their functions. He insists upon the importance of the gun's being fitted to the owner. For instance, to buy a gun in summer clothing immediately creates a problem. On a winter hunting outing he will probably be wearing a heavy jacket over a thick sweater which will result in a full quarter of an inch difference in the length of the stock or the distances from the center of the front trigger, to the heel, middle, and toe of the butt.
