Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. On April 19, 2025, 250 years will have passed since "the shot heard round the world". The Minute Man sculpture by Daniel Chester French (just 25 years old at the time) commemorated that event 150 years ago. Its dedication was celebrated nationally in Harper's Weekly with a special illustrated Supplement including the full text of the Oration by George William Curtis. The poem by Emerson is printed at the end. A striking image of the sculpture is presented. In addition to this complete issue of The Weekly, the Thomas Nast portrayal of the Minute Man as "Another feather in Uncle Sam's Hat" from a slightly later issue is included (just that page), Two items offered.
