Large hardcover, good with contents a bit shaken, slight toning and foxing, covers scuffed and rubbed, especially at edges, With ownership signature of US Army captain Frank Over, Jr, on August 30, 1944 in Paris, just days after the liberation o the city. Detailed analysis with photos and plans of the reconstruction of the French railways after the early phase of the war-much was soon destroyed again After D-Day. Book.

First published in 1945 when, after the conclusion of WWII the French authorities wanted to promote and stimulate visitors to France. This is the 1959 edition, marked at such in the lower left margin of the poster. Art by French artist JAL - about whom little appears to be known. Printed by Paul Marcial in Paris. English language version. Dimensions - 24.25" by 39.25" [62.5cm by 100cm]. Image/s available on request. The poster is as original - NOT mounted. Not displayed but found rolled with a number of posters from a former Travel Agent. Would be shipped rolled in a tough, card tube. Overall, bright and clean except for a small part of the right-hand margin at the top which is a little dusty and has a 1cm edge tear. This we attribute to the way in which it was kept rolled.
