L. studierte 1813 u. v. 1816 bis 1821 an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien. Er war Schüler von Josef Mössmer und Josef Fischer in der Landschaftszeichnung und Landschaftsmalerei sowie von Johann Friedrich Le…ybold in der Radiertechnik. Zwischen 1821 u. 1823 bereiste der die österr. Alpen und das Flachland des heutigen Burgenlandes. 1825 folgte ein Aufenthalt in Leipzig. 1826 - 1835 lebte Loos in Salzburg, wo er u. a. an einem großen Panoramabild der Stadt mitarbeitete. Anschließend ging L. wieder nach Wien, 1840 machte er seine erste Italienreise, ab 1846 lebte er auch längere Zeit in Rom. Nach Reisen nach Norddeutschland und nach Kopenhagen ließ er sich 1853 schließlich in Kiel nieder, wo er ab 1863 Zeichenlehrer an der Universität wurde. - Leichte Gbrsp.
