A dramatization of the life of Renaissance-era Swiss physician Paracelsus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, focusing on his work during the plague. Released in honor of the 400th anniversary of Paracelsus' death in 1541. 7 x 9.25 inches. Very Good plus, with light toning affecting the top right portion of the photograph.

Karl Lamac hat 1932 diesen Film nach dem Roman von Edgar Wallace gedreht, Kamera Otto Heller. Maria Solveg (1907-1993) war die Tochter von Georg Stern (AEG), Nichte von Käthe Kollwitz, Schwester von Katta Sterna und eine zeitlang mit dem Tänzer und Regisseur Ernst Matray verheiratet, auch im Exil. Rasp, Vater der nicht unbeutenden Schriftstellerin Renate Rasp, hat auch in Wallace-Filmen nach dem Krieg als Bösewicht mitgewirkt.
