Beide Autorinnen sind am Institut für Didaktik der APW tätig. Doz. Dr. sc. Ursula Drews war Lehrerin an einer Berliner Schule, qualifizierte sich dann für die didaktische Forschung, trat mit mehreren Publikationen an die Öffentlichkeit und übt jetzt die Funktion eines stellvertretenden Institutsdirektors aus. StR Dr. sc. Elisabeth Fuhrmann war 13 Jahre als Lehrerin, stellvertretende Direktorin und Fachberaterin für Mathematik im Stadtbezirk Berlin-Köpenick tätig, bevor sie in eine wissenschaftliche Aspirantur delegiert wurde. Inzwischen unterbreitete sie zahlreiche Forschungsergebnisse auf den Gebieten der Methodik des Mathematikunterrichts und der Didaktik.
