L'A. fu vicebibliotecario della Braidense dopo che il Gabinetto numismatico milanese, da lui diretto per 14 anni,Âfu assorbito dalla stessa Braidense nel 1864. Nel libro vi e' anche una disamina linguistica della toponomastica di origine greca e latina: "Ma non pur de' nomi greci all'orecchio ti soneranno, ma dei latini ancora.
