Kupferstichkarte bestehend aus 4 Blättern mit jeweils 15 Segmenten (insgesamt 60 Segmente). Ca. 105 cm x 127 cm Zweite korrigierte Auflage dieser erstmals 1811 erschienen detaillierten und großformatigen Landkarte von Norditalien. - Gaudenzio Bordiga (1773-1837) war ein italienischer Kupferstecher und Kartograf. Nach Abschluss seines Studiums ließ er sich Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts mit seinem älteren Bruder Benedetto in Mailand nieder. Gemeinsam schufen sie eine Reihe geographischer und topographischer Karten und verfassten mehrere Aufsätze. Aufgrund ihres Könnens und ihrer Präzision wurden sie in dieser Zeit in das Militärgeographische Institut in Mailand aufgenommen, wo sie wichtige Aufträge für die Regierung ausführten, darunter Karten der Lombardei, Italiens und Europas. Besonders hervorzuheben ist Bacler-Dalbeches "Carte générale du théâtre de la guerre en Italie", die 1797 direkt vom Generalstab der französischen Armee Napoleons bei den beiden Bordiga-Brüdern in Auftrag gegeben wurde. Im ersten Jahrzehnt des 19. Jahrhunderts zeichnete und stach er, auch ohne die Mitarbeit seines Bruders Benedetto, verschiedene militärgeographische Karten, darunter die große vorliegende Landkarte des Königreichs Italien. - Oben links befindet sich im Titelfeld eine Zusammenfassung der statistischen und administrativen Daten des Königreichs, gefolgt von einer Legende mit 22 Einträgen und gängigen Symbolen. Darunter findet sich ein Hinweis auf die Quellen der Karte, unter anderem, dass das Veltlin und das gesamte Gebiet rechts des Po Gegenstand einer speziellen Vermessung waren. Vermutlich handelt es sich dabei um die Vermessungen, die 1801 vom Topographischen Amt Graubünden im Veltlin und den angrenzenden Tälern von Brescia, Val Trompia und Valle Canonica, durchgeführt wurden.
