Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. Jeff Koons's Split-Rocker made its New York City debut at Rockefeller Center, to coincide with the opening of his retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Presented by Gagosian Gallery and organized by Public Art Fund and Tishman Speyer, Split-Rocker is a spectacular planted form that towers over 37 feet high and features over 50,000 flowering plants. Consistent with Koonss persistent fascination with dichotomy and the in-between, the inspiration for Split-Rocker came when he decided to split and combine two similar but different toy rockers, a pony belonging to his son and a dinosaur (Dino). The slippage or split between the different halves of the heads gives an almost Cubist aspect to the composition. As the model was enlarged to the scale of a small house, the split became an opening, a profile, and a light shaft. In contrast to his legendary Puppy of 1992, which was presented by Public Art Fund at Rockefeller Center in the summer of 2000, Split-Rocker suggests the idea of a fantasy shelter. Whereas the singular form of Puppy is closed and sculptural, the combined form of Split-Rocker is architectural and hollow. Split-Rocker is a spectacular planted form-over 37 feet high, featuring over 50,000 flowering plants-that evokes a piece of classical topiary work, yet its technical construction is the result of a twentieth century invention. Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. None. Fine in green cloth with debossed photographic cover. 128 pages, fully illustrated and with interviews with Bella Freud and Jake Auerbach by Harry Thorne. This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition Friends and Relations: Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon, Frank Auerbach, Michael Andrews at Gagosian, Grosvenor Hill, London. Curated by art historian Richard Calvocoressi, Friends and Relations presented over forty key paintings by these four era-defining artists. With a focus on portraiture of friends, lovers, and family members, the exhibition elucidated the connections between their respective practices, and also featured some of the artists' portraits of each other.

Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. Drawn largely from Picasso s estate, the book features over sixty rarely seen paintings, sculptures, and drawings from the full span of his career, from 1896 to 1972. Inspired by the achronological approach that Picasso took when installing his first retrospective in 1932, works from across decades are placed in conversation, encouraging viewers to discover new personal connections and continuities. Fully illustrated with colour plates, including extensive installation photography, the catalogue reproduces all the works in the exhibition alongside details and archival images of the artist and his studios. It includes an introduction by Larry Gagosian; a conversation between Paloma Picasso and artist Peter Doig addressing the inspiration behind the exhibition and recounting her father's creative life; 'Hanging with Picasso,' an essay by Michael Cary reflecting on the diversity of the artist's practice; and a translation of a 1932 conversation between Picasso and E. Teriade. The cloth hardcover is housed in a slipcase featuring the painting Fillette jouant avec une voiture (Paloma fond rouge) (1951) and the sculpture Petite fille sautant a la corde (1950). This book was published on the occasion of the exhibition Picasso: Tete-a-Tete at Gagosian, 980 Madison Avenue, New York, presented in collaboration with the artist s daughter Paloma Picasso. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Soft cover. Condizione: New. 1st Edition. Large-format softcover volume, measuring approximately 10" x 12.5", is new, still in shrinkwrap. 316 pages. "Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Gagosian, New York, in 2023, this striking illustrated catalog celebrates the centenary of the iconic photographer's birth. Over one hundred celebrated artists, designers, musicians, writers, curators, and figures from the world of fashion were asked to select a photograph by Avedon and elaborate on the ways in which both the image and artist have made an impact on their lives. Participants include Hilton Als, Naomi Campbell, Elton John, Spike Lee, Sally Mann, Polly Mellen, Kate Moss, Chloë Sevigny, Taryn Simon, Christy Turlington, and Jonas Wood. "Avedon 100" celebrates Avedon's enduring influence on photography and makes clear his profound impression on visual culture worldwide. The book represents various periods from his oeuvre, including the widely known In the American West series, images of the social justice movement, classic portraiture, advertising, and fashion work. The photographs reproduced reveal the enormous and fascinating diversity of Avedon's subjects, while the commentary offered by the celebrated selectors underscores the breadth and longevity of his legacy. "Avedon 100" includes a foreword by Larry Gagosian, texts by Derek Blasberg and Jake Skeets, and an essay by Sarah Elizabeth Lewis.".
