For Presentation only.') written specially to celebrate the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the Synagogue's Inauguration, 1701 - 1901. The author was the Chief Rabbi of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews Congregations. The book includes b/w illustrations and facsimiles of deeds and documents. Among these is a fold out family tree - slightly difficult to read owing to ink fading - see image. There is also a compliments slip which states: With the Compliments of THE HAHAM and of THE MAHADAD (main image). Condition (internal and external) is basically sound. Some edge wear, also, a little marking on the covers. Spotting on the book's top edge. Hints of tanning (mainly confined to the margins) on the book's pages. pp. 201/8vo (imperial octavo, +/-).
