Das NOx-Reduzierungspotenzial ist direkt mit dem Erhalt niedriger Rußwerte bei hohem rückgeführten… Abgasanteil gekoppelt. Yvan Gauthier geht der Frage nach, wie die hohe kinetische Energie des Kraftstoffstrahls im Teillastbetrieb so umgesetzt werden kann, dass die Rußemission im Abgas maßgebend reduziert wird. Er analysiert zunächst das konventionelle PKW-Dieselbrennverfahren und führt neue Größen ein, um eine Korrelation zwischen Eingangsgrößen des Motors mit der Rußemission im Abgas zu erstellen. Im Hauptteil entwickelt er ein Zweiphasen-Kraftstoffstrahlmodell, welches neben der Mitführung des heißen umgebenden Gases, die mittlere Impulsdichte des Strahls beim Auftreffen auf den Muldenrand berücksichtigt. Kern des Modellgedankens ist der Anteil an der Gemischbildung durch die Vergrößerung des dampfförmigen Strahlvolumens beim Auftreffen auf den Muldenrand. Er plausibilisiert anschließend die Modellaussagen mit Hilfe von Ergebnissen aus Motoruntersuchungen.
