Sie begegnen uns halb- wie ganzfigurig, mal in Rückenansicht, mal streng frontal oder in den verschiedenen Profilansichten. Sie erscheine…n allein, zu zweit oder in einer Gruppe. Die Männer sind oft gekleidet in militärhafte Uniformen bzw. in der .Uniform der europäischen Bourgeoisie", dem Anzug, häufig mit weissem Hemd und Krawatte. Darüber hinaus treten sie aber auch im Messgewand, als Seemann oder mit Kapitänsmütze auf. Die Frauen tragen gerne elegante, ein wenig altmodisch wirkende Kleider. Kleinteilige Muster oder sonstige Verzierungen gibt es hier nicht. Vielmehr wird die Bekleidung durch voneinander abgrenzbare Farbfelder und -bahnen stilisiert, die ihrerseits in sich strukturiert sind. Der Hintergrund besteht zumeist aus rein farblich modulierten Partien, manchmal gibt es Anzeichen von Architektur. Im Ganzen lässt sich das Umfeld des Personals jedoch am ehesten als diffuser, atmosphärischer Raum beschreiben, bei dem die einzelnen Pinselstriche und Farbschichten nicht vollständig miteinander vermalt" wurden.
