Presumed first edition (per matching dates upon title and copyright pages). xviii, 290 pages. Hardcover; H 21.25cm x L 14.75cm. Dust jacket rubbed with several short tears at edges, mild foxing spots upon front panel, some scuffing at spine head, creasing at bottom edge of rear panel. Brown cloth. Glue residue on front pastedown from removal of past owner's personal bookplate. Foreword by Felix Morley. Binding remains quite crisp. A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket. Fulbright scholar George Gipe (1933-1986) examines the history of US copyright law with a particular focus, of course, upon the 1909 federal legislation and the portent of future threats (from the 1967 perspective) to copyright especially photocopying and computers. Gipe collaborated with Steve Martin and Carl Reiner for the screenplays of "The Man with Two Brains" and "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.".
