Fulbright scholar George Gipe (1933-1986) examines the history of US copyright law with a particular focus, of course, upon the 1909 federal legislation and the portent of future threats (from the 1967 perspective) to copyright especially photocopying and computers. Gipe collaborated with Steve Martin and Carl Reiner for the screenplays of "The Man with Two Brains" and "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.". …
