Die MobiDic-Studie wurde zwischen 2010 und 2013 an Wuppertaler Haupt- und Gesamtschulen durchgeführt und untersucht die Auswirkungen von PEW auf mehrere Bereiche fremdsprachlichen Lernens (z.B. Leseverstehen). Dabei lag der Fokus der Videostudie auf der Beobachtung und Auswertung des Nachschlagevorgangs beim Schreiben. Die Analyse der MobiDic-Studie zeigt, dass PEW ein sinnvolles Hilfsmittel für den Englischunterricht sind und zur Förderung des Fremdsprachenlernens vor allem von leistungsschwächeren Lernern beitragen.
