Gilbert White and published in 1825 in London. A charming early 19th century edition of Gilbert Whites the Natural History of Selborne (first published 1789), a seminal work in English natural history beloved by collectors and readers for two centuries. This copy is in good condition and shows gentle signs of age, including slight bumping to the boards and minor foxing consistent with its period, yet the interior remains clean and structurally sound and free from writing, tears, marks, or other damage. The frontispiece is a hand colored antique plate, adding visual appeal and historical character. Really amazing condition considering the age of the Volume. The front endpaper bears the ownership inscription of Major Max Teichman Derville, a noted English public figure and local historian of the early to mid 20th century.
